Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol - Afternoon Shift in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. This is an armed and driving post, where you will engage with customers and staff, providing exceptional service and communication while upholding our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. Your presence will help foster a welcoming environment while ensuring adherence to all protocols as you work alongside a committed team in a dynamic setting.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols inside the store and around the perimeter to help to deter potential incidents and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and emergency response activities.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity or potential hazards within the retail environment to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other security-related concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings while patrolling and remain attentive to any changes or unusual occurrences.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with store personnel, customers, and law enforcement as needed.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts in accordance with Allied Universal and client guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess an armed guard card or license as required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a Level III armed certification if applying in Texas.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
