Job Description


As a Security Professional - Armed Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help create a secure environment. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents while providing an approachable point of contact for staff, patients, and visitors. You will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the healthcare location in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential risks.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, unusual activity, or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel and/or management.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and helping to maintain order within the location.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with all individuals encountered during patrols and while carrying out security-related responsibilities.
  • Support Allied Universal and client staff with additional security-related tasks as assigned by site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience or certification in the use of handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
