Job Description


As a Security Officer - Commercial Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence throughout the property. Your role will include conducting routine patrols, providing exceptional customer service, and communicating clearly with visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the overall security-related needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Document observations and report any security-related incidents or concerns according to Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal personnel and client representatives to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for tenants and visitors.
  • Assist with access control, verifying authorized entry to designated areas as required by site procedures.
  • Remain alert to any unusual activity or potential risks and communicate findings promptly to the appropriate parties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
