Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol - Full Time in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will support government locations by conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and interacting with the public to provide exceptional customer service. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment, responding to situations as they arise, and upholding our core values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and monitor for unusual situations.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents at the location.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Interact with the public and/or employees in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a secure environment.
  • Follow all company and location protocols for access control, visitor management, and other security-related procedures.
  • Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned weapon, adhering to all applicable laws and company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent such as a GED, as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
