As a Security Officer - Access Control PT in CHANNAHON , IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Pay Rate: $18.75 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the chemical or petrochemical facility, verifying identification and granting entry to authorized personnel and vehicles.
  • Follow site-specific security-related procedures and policies to support the protection of people, property, and information.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional presence at access control points.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility's premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Document security-related incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports as required by site protocols.
  • Collaborate with facility staff and Allied Universal team members to maintain a secure environment in accordance with client and site expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience in access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
