Job Description


As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Driver Required in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while your commitment to outstanding customer service and communication will support a welcoming atmosphere. This position requires driving responsibilities as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the overall security-related efforts at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of security-related concerns.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, interactions, and observations according to Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities as directed by Allied Universal or site management, including assisting with evacuations and/or lockdowns if necessary.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors to address concerns and provide information about site-specific policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
