Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol - Utilities Site in Dallas, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence at a utilities location. Your role will involve monitoring designated areas, responding promptly to incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service through clear communication. This position is an armed post, where you will contribute to a collaborative and people-first environment that values integrity and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining composure while addressing issues that may arise in the location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the utility facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and observe individuals entering or leaving the premises, maintaining a visible security-related presence to help to deter potential issues.
  • Document and report any observed irregularities, property damage, or unusual occurrences during patrols and/or while stationed in assigned areas.
  • Work closely with Allied Universal management, local law enforcement, and emergency personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Assist with the implementation and enforcement of site-specific policies, procedures, and protocols related to security-related operations and emergency response.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
