As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol – Education in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a vital role in fostering a secure environment at a prominent education location. You will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and provide prompt assistance when needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of students, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor activity and report any suspicious behavior or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and local law enforcement when necessary, following established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities.
  • Support a welcoming and secure environment for all persons on campus by demonstrating professionalism and integrity at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Possess a Level III armed certification if required by Texas state regulations.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
