Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Financial Institution in Tacoma, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a financial institution location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication to all individuals on-site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols both inside and around the financial institution premises, including the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verifying authorization of individuals entering restricted areas, and report any suspicious activities or persons in accordance with established protocols.
  • Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned firearms as required by the post, following all company and legal requirements related to armed security-related duties.
  • Complete written reports and documentation for incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and the client site protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies at the location.
  • Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift, adapting to varying working environments and conditions specific to financial institution settings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience, or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Must possess an Armed Guard Card or Armed Guard License.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
