Job Description


As a Security Guard - Plant Patrol Driver in East Chicago, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed professional with Allied Universal at a large manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. Your visible presence will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while you deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the manufacturing and industrial location, including the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Report any unusual or suspicious activities, hazards, and/or emergencies following established protocols.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering or exiting the location to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal management in the course of daily responsibilities.
  • Document observations and incidents accurately and promptly in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Assist in implementing emergency procedures as directed by management and/or Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
