Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Specialist in Weslaco, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents at a dynamic retail location. Your responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, remaining highly visible to support a secure environment, and delivering outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor for unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior, reporting any concerns to Allied Universal management and/or local authorities as required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any observations during the shift.
  • Work collaboratively with retail staff and visitors to promote a welcoming environment while upholding security-related procedures.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and/or incidents, following Allied Universal protocols at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or license.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification if required by the state of Texas.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds; this is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet; this is preferred.
  • Hold a state, county, or city issued security-related license; this is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
