As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol Specialist in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, providing exceptional customer service to staff and visitors, and communicating clearly with team members. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and/or customers at the location and maintaining a professional presence.
  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Help to deter unwanted activity by conducting regular and random patrols throughout the retail distribution facility and surrounding perimeter areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, utilizing problem-solving skills to address the situation appropriately.
  • Report security-related incidents, suspicious behavior, or hazards to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or site contacts.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, including following established protocols for evacuation or medical events.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, observations, and any incidents encountered during the shift.
  • Adapt to changing working environments and conditions as required by the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
