As a Security Officer - Media Campus Patrol in Ottawa, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom-focused location. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies in a technology-focused campus environment.
  • Conduct routine and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding areas to help to deter potential incidents and promote a secure environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergencies that may arise within the campus or media/telecom infrastructure.
  • Monitor access to buildings and restricted areas, verifying credentials as required by location protocols.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related issues to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as appropriate.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site procedures and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with campus personnel and local authorities as needed to address incidents and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
