Job Description


As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrols in Burlington, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned tech and media locations, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents and foster a welcoming environment. You will conduct regular patrols, engage with employees and visitors, and provide outstanding customer service while responding to security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible security-related presence within a technology and media-focused location.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities, hazards, or conditions to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
  • Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and verify credentials as directed by site procedures.
  • Support the enforcement of site-specific policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and proprietary information common in technology and media environments.
  • Document incidents, activities, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Provide information, directions, and assistance to employees, contractors, and visitors as needed while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
