Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting visible patrols throughout a government location. In this armed and driving role, you will monitor assigned areas, engage with the public, and provide outstanding customer service while fostering a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, ensuring only authorized personnel are present within restricted areas.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to appropriate Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
  • Assist law enforcement and/or emergency personnel as directed during incidents occurring within the location.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disturbances and provide reassurance to employees, visitors, and/or contractors.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of all incidents, observations, and activities as required by Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required as specified by the client and/or local regulations.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
