Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Post - Government Site Patrol in Tavares, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer within a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, providing a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. In this dynamic role, you will conduct routine patrols, interact with the public, and respond to various situations while upholding the highest standards of customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to address and manage situations as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor for unusual activity and promptly report any suspicious behavior or security-related incidents according to site protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the location to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees, visitors, and the public.
  • Interact professionally with members of the public, staff, and law enforcement personnel as required by site-specific needs.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all site-specific and Allied Universal policies, procedures, and standards while performing armed patrol duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license as required by applicable laws or regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
