Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Corrections Specialist in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and conduct patrols in a government-focused environment, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing an approachable presence for those you encounter. Your role involves staying visible throughout assigned areas, responding to incidents as needed, and maintaining strong communication with site personnel. This is an armed post, requiring professionalism and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be part of a team that values integrity, innovation, and a people-first approach, delivering exceptional customer service in every interaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas as assigned, maintaining a visible presence to support security-related objectives.
  • Communicate clearly with visitors, employees, and/or law enforcement as needed to address situations or relay important information.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities in accordance with Allied Universal’s reporting procedures.
  • Follow all weapon handling protocols and maintain readiness to respond to security-related emergencies when required by site policies.
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address any security-related concerns or issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • You must have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • You must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or have equivalent credentials.
  • You must possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • You must have a college degree.
  • You must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED, as required by the client.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must have a valid corrections officer license.
  • You must have a DD214 with honorable discharge, or an associate degree or 60 college credits, or a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
