Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a commercial real estate location, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. Your presence supports a secure environment, and you will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service through clear communication and a caring attitude. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help protect property and people at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report any irregularities.
  • Observe and report any unusual conditions, incidents, or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or designated client representatives.
  • Assist with access control procedures by monitoring entrances and exits and verifying credentials as required by site policies.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with tenants, visitors, and staff to provide information or assistance as needed.
  • Complete required reports and documentation of incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
