Job Description


As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Team in North East, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents through routine patrols and a strong, visible presence. You will engage with visitors and staff, providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. You will also respond to incidents, assist with access control, and use technology to support security-related operations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by performing security-related procedures and adhering to site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to assist with the resolution of issues at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail and mall environment, including the business premises and surrounding perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Observe and report on any suspicious behavior or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership as required.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, helping to restrict unauthorized entry to designated areas.
  • Offer assistance and general guidance to visitors and staff, maintaining a visible Allied Universal presence throughout the location.
  • Document incidents and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with customer service is preferred.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
