As a Security Officer - Access Control Petrochemical in Paulsboro, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and managing badge access. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a secure environment while providing exceptional customer service to employees and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring regular movement throughout the site to support access control duties. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to authorized personnel at the chemical or petrochemical location, following client site procedures and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Verify credentials and identification of individuals entering or exiting the premises to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Conduct security-related patrols of the facility’s perimeter and interior, both at scheduled intervals and randomly, to help to deter suspicious activity.
  • Respond calmly and promptly to incidents, emergencies, and/or critical situations according to site-specific policies.
  • Maintain detailed records of access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site protocols.
  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by addressing inquiries and directing them in accordance with security-related procedures.
  • Communicate and coordinate with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal management as needed during incidents and/or unusual situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A current TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is required.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
