Job Description


As a Security Professional - Government Patrol Shift in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a prominent government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible throughout your shift. You will interact with the public, provide outstanding customer service, and assist with access control and badge monitoring. You will also utilize technology, such as computers or tablets, to support your daily tasks. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activities, incidents, or security-related issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal team members and on-site personnel to maintain a professional presence and uphold site expectations.
  • Document daily activities and incidents as required for site records and client communication.
  • Remain alert and attentive to changing conditions throughout the work environment, adapting patrol routes and response as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
