Job Description


As a Security Officer -  Government Center - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for all occupants. Your visible presence supports a sense of order, while your approachable demeanor ensures excellent customer service and communication. You will play a crucial role in access control and work closely with the public, embodying Allied Universal's commitment to teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. This position allows you to make a meaningful impact every day in a dynamic public service setting.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential issues.
  • Monitor the premises for unusual or suspicious behavior and report any concerns as directed by site-specific protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and public service personnel as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Follow all post orders and directives established for the government location and adapt to varying working environments and conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
