Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Full-Time in Pasadena, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical / Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment at a major chemical and petrochemical location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible to provide outstanding customer service and communication. Leveraging technology such as computers or tablets is preferred as you contribute to an agile, reliable, and innovative team that values integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach. What You'll Do:

  • Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points, following site-specific procedures for chemical or petrochemical environments.
  • Help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas by maintaining a visible presence at access control points.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with access procedures and responding to inquiries.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, alerting the appropriate authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter, observing for irregularities or security-related concerns specific to chemical or petrochemical operations.
  • Carry out emergency response activities according to client and Allied Universal protocols, including evacuation or lockdown procedures when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs or reports of all access control activities, incidents, and observations throughout the shift.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
