As a Security Officer - Government Patrol TWIC Required in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to all individuals on site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting security-related needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences that may require further investigation.
  • Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to maintain a welcoming and secure environment for all persons on the premises.
  • Complete all required reports and logs in a timely and accurate manner as required by the site and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings while on patrol to identify and address potential security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
