Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Facility Patrol - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and attention to detail contribute to a positive experience for everyone on-site. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while assisting with access control and responding to situations as they arise. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, residents, and visitors to provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Follow all Allied Universal protocols and procedures relevant to the assignment and location requirements.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points as directed.
  • Document incidents and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least six months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • A guard card or security-related license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
