As a Security Professional - Armed Patrol Government Site in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a reassuring presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining visible to help create a secure environment, and delivering exceptional customer service and communication. This role requires an armed guard card or license, reflecting the importance of your position within this dynamic setting. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas, remaining observant for any suspicious activity or potential security-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of activities, incidents, and patrols in accordance with Allied Universal policies and client-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed during incidents and/or emergencies at the location.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and contractors with access procedures, providing guidance and support as required.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to evolving security-related situations while upholding Allied Universal’s standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
