As a Security Guard -  Shelter Center Patrol - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a shelter location. Your responsibilities will include regular patrols of assigned areas, staying visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to all individuals on site. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients at the shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations within the shelter environment in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual behavior.
• Monitor entry points and common areas to help to deter prohibited items, loitering, or other unwanted activity.
• Document and report any incidents, observations, and/or hazards according to Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
• Maintain a visible presence and interact professionally with residents, visitors, and staff to promote a secure environment.
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or escorting visitors as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
