Job Description


As a Security Officer – Healthcare Patrol in Tuscaloosa, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling assigned areas within a healthcare location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while creating a welcoming environment. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, addressing the needs of staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Support access control processes by monitoring entrances, exits, and visitor flow to help to deter disruptions.
  • Observe for unusual or suspicious activity and report findings according to site policies and procedures.
  • Assist with controlling and/or directing pedestrian and vehicle traffic as needed around the healthcare location.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with healthcare personnel, patients, and visitors, maintaining a positive environment.
  • Document incidents and observations accurately and promptly as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
