Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Healthcare Patrols in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play an important role in helping to create a secure environment in a dynamic healthcare location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, monitoring assigned areas, and maintaining high visibility to help to deter security-related incidents. You will also interact with staff, patients, and visitors to provide exceptional customer service and communication, embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing assistance during emergencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report any suspicious behavior or incidents.
  • Monitor access points and observe the flow of individuals entering and exiting the location to help to deter potential security-related concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and/or visitors to address questions and provide information regarding security-related matters.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal procedures and site requirements.
  • Work closely with local staff and/or emergency personnel during incidents or drills to support site-specific emergency response plans.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
