Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol Driver in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere. This is a driving and armed position where you will be visible throughout the facility, responding to situations as needed while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and professional manner, utilizing problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter potential threats and/or unauthorized activities.
  • Document and report any unusual activities, incidents, or security-related breaches observed during patrols.
  • Assist visitors, staff, and patients as needed while maintaining a visible security-related presence.
  • Work closely with healthcare personnel and/or law enforcement when required to address incidents or emergencies.
  • Follow all regulations regarding the possession and/or use of firearms as dictated by Allied Universal policies and client requirements.
  • Remain alert to changing conditions within the healthcare environment and adjust patrol patterns and response as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Must have at least 6 months of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
