Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Education in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a vital role in supporting a secure and welcoming environment within an educational location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to situations as they arise. Armed duties are required for this post, making your attention to detail and professionalism essential. Providing outstanding customer service and clear communication, you will embody Allied Universal's values of integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach in every interaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
  • Monitor access points and observe for any unusual or suspicious activity within the premises.
  • Communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors, offering guidance and assistance when required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to support a secure learning environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
