Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Building Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, supporting a secure environment for all who visit or reside there. Through routine patrols and a visible presence, you will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the location and its perimeter to help to deter potential issues and maintain a visible security-related presence.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Interact with individuals at the location in a professional manner, assisting with inquiries or concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all activities and incidents during the shift.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management and client representatives about security-related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possession of a valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
