As a Security Guard - Shelter Patrol Roving in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately during emergencies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following location protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor and report any security-related matters or concerns within the shelter environment to Allied Universal management and/or site contacts.
  • Support access control by monitoring entrances and exits as needed, and assist in facilitating authorized entry to the location.
  • Document and report incidents, activities, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, residents, and visitors to provide information, guidance, and support as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
