Job Description


As a Security Officer - Telecom Facility Unarmed Patrol in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic tech-focused location. In this role, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. You will be responsible for conducting routine patrols, managing access control, and providing exceptional customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting as directed by site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor entry points and restricted areas, reporting any unusual or suspicious activity in accordance with established protocols.
  • Communicate with Allied Universal management and client representatives regarding incidents, observations, and daily activities.
  • Support the maintenance of a secure environment for personnel, visitors, and property within the tech, media, or telecom location.
  • Participate in required training sessions, drills, and meetings to remain up-to-date with procedures and responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with customer service is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
