Job Description


As a Security Officer - Education Dispatch Driver in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Dispatch Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in supporting a secure environment within an educational setting. You will monitor activities, coordinate communication, and help to deter security-related incidents through prompt response and strong situational awareness. This driving position requires adherence to company driving policies. Your ability to remain calm and provide excellent customer service will contribute to a positive experience for everyone at the location. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and operate communication systems to dispatch security-related personnel and resources as needed within the education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating communications between on-site personnel and emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls, incidents, and dispatch activities in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Provide customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and students regarding security-related matters and inquiries.
  • Support regular and random patrols by receiving and relaying information from patrolling personnel around the campus and perimeter.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures to address security-related concerns and help to deter unauthorized access or activities.
  • Participate in emergency response activities by facilitating communication and dispatching resources during campus incidents.
  • Stay informed about post orders and updates relevant to the education environment to provide appropriate dispatch support.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
