Job Description


As a Security Officer - Auto Patrol Specialist Unarmed in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at this automotive location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and create a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. Your presence and routine patrols will help to maintain a welcoming atmosphere while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participate in emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the auto facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or unusual occurrences within the location.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and vendors with directions and general information as needed.
  • Work closely with site management and/or law enforcement as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned area to help to deter potential issues.
  • Complete required documentation and reports related to patrols, incidents, and daily activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • A valid state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
