Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections Patrol Driver in Clearwater, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a corrections environment, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols and monitoring assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. This driving and armed role involves maintaining a strong presence to promote a secure atmosphere, responding to incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out armed patrols within the correctional facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a security-related presence.
  • Assist visitors, staff, and/or inmates with inquiries in a professional and courteous manner while adhering to site-specific policies and protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures for armed security-related posts.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain order within the location.
  • Document and report any unusual activity, incidents, or breaches of protocols to the appropriate authorities as required by site policies.
  • Collaborate with facility staff and law enforcement as needed to support incident resolution and maintain a secure environment.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, including evacuations or lockdowns, as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Graduation from a law enforcement or military police training program or an equivalent is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Must have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
