Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Previously identified SSA required qualifications.
- State of Georgia mandated Basic Communications Officer
- Public Safety Telecommunicator I and II (or equivalent)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- National Incident Management System 100, 200, 700. BOO
- Hazmat Materials Awareness
- Local Dispatch maintaining requirements for Certification, Qualification and Active Shooter.

Job Summary:
- This position is responsible for all tasks associated with initiating emergency response to include answering emergency and non-emergency calls, providing life-saving instructions responding to and dispatching public safety personnel, responding to general requests for assistance and information, and maintaining critical public safety records.
Job Description:
- Monitor and operate a public safety answering point including emergent and non-emergent calls for service while administering routine and emergency call assignments and operations per established guidelines.
- Dispatches calls to appropriate department or agency, relays updated call information; maintains status of field units within the Fire and Security Blotters while emphasizing accuracy and completeness.
- Disseminate and receive information to/from first responders in the field. providing situational awareness during emergency calls, while maintaining the constant status of field units and updating dispatch information.
- Monitors severe weather alert systems; initiates local alerts and voice activations of the siren warning system; notifies county personnel.
- Maintain all department-required certifications, working knowledge and/or use of continually evolving equipment and applications, proficiency with Fire and Security operations pertaining to LM Marietta and perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays and overtime as required.
