As a Security Professional - Armed Government  in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer serving a government location, where you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. This position requires you to carry a firearm as part of your responsibilities. You will remain visible to assist with incident prevention, respond to situations as needed, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation skills as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout government buildings and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible security-related presence.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance concerns encountered during patrols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders when required, following Allied Universal protocols and site-specific guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incidents, patrols, and activities as required by site procedures and Allied Universal standards.
  • Utilize communication devices and security-related technology to monitor the location and coordinate with team members.
  • Adhere to all licensing requirements and training standards for armed personnel as outlined by Allied Universal and local regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must possess an Armed Guard Card or Armed Guard License as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Pepper Spray Certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
