Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Cocoa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at this government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment. This armed post involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the community, and providing top-tier customer service. You will remain highly visible to help prevent security-related issues and act as a reliable resource for those onsite. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including those that may require the use of an armed response.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any suspicious persons, activities, or security-related hazards while on patrol.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services as required by the post protocols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident and daily activity reports.
  • Maintain high visibility throughout the assigned government location to help to deter potential incidents.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and procedures as directed by Allied Universal and the government location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
