Job Description


As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol Specialist in Aberdeen, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail environment, helping to deter security-related incidents through high visibility and attentive presence. You will conduct regular patrols across the location, interact with visitors and staff, and provide outstanding customer service while assisting with security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter, observing for unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help control access and observe for security-related concerns.
  • Report incidents, suspicious activities, and/or maintenance issues according to site protocol.
  • Collaborate with local staff and law enforcement as needed during emergencies or incidents.
  • Remain alert and attentive while on duty to help promote a secure environment for employees and guests.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
