Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Patrol in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal supporting a government location, you will monitor assigned areas and conduct routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. Your presence and professionalism will contribute to a welcoming environment for all visitors and personnel. You will engage with individuals on site, providing excellent customer service and clear communication while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation. Pay Rate: $21.80 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols inside the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or the public while performing security-related duties.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Support the maintenance of order and adherence to rules and regulations within the government location.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency personnel when required during incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least six months of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
