As a Security Guard - Shelter Facility Patrol - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and foster a welcoming environment at a shelter location. Your responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and offering exceptional customer service to those in need. You will play a key role in promoting a sense of well-being for clients and staff while utilizing strong communication skills. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Observe and report any irregularities or unusual situations that may arise within the shelter environment.
  • Communicate professionally with shelter staff, residents, and visitors to promote a positive atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with shelter personnel and law enforcement as needed to address incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all incidents, activities, and observations as required by site policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess proof of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
