Job Description


As a Security Officer - Dispatch Specialist in Maiden, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Officer in a dynamic tech environment, you will monitor and coordinate security-related communications and activities to help to deter incidents and support smooth operations. Your responsibilities include managing alarm panels, access control systems, and providing exceptional customer service to all personnel and visitors. Working with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in upholding a people-first culture while collaborating with a dedicated team to address challenges with agility, reliability, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately during emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating communication and dispatching necessary personnel or resources as needed.
  • Monitor and operate communication systems to receive and relay information regarding site activities, incidents, and security-related concerns within a technology-focused location.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of all incoming calls, incidents, and dispatch activities for record-keeping and follow-up purposes.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and on-site personnel to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a secure environment within the tech and media location.
  • Follow established protocols for escalating issues and notifying appropriate authorities or management when required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • CPR and first aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
