Job Description


As a Security Professional – Armed Mall Patrol Specialist in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. This role requires carrying a weapon as part of your responsibilities. You will communicate with guests and staff, provide exceptional customer service, and support a secure environment through teamwork and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner while adhering to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail or mall environment, including both the interior and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to observe for unusual or suspicious activity, reporting findings according to client and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Interact professionally with the public, store personnel, and/or tenants, providing assistance as needed while maintaining a security-related focus appropriate for a retail or mall setting.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities thoroughly in written reports or electronic systems as required by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An active Armed Guard Card or License is required.
  • A Level III Armed Certification is required for roles in Texas.
  • Having an active Guard Card or License is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
