As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver Shelter in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring presence across shelter locations. Your role will involve conducting regular patrols, remaining visible to support a secure environment, and delivering exceptional customer service to all visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including those that may require an armed response.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and help to maintain order within the shelter environment.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by site protocols.
  • Assist visitors and occupants by providing directions and addressing questions or concerns in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to any situation that may arise during the course of duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An active armed guard card or license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Must have 3+ years either military, law enforcement or armed security experience. 
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
