Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver Transportation in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol transportation locations to help maintain a secure environment for all individuals. In this armed and driving role, you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies while providing customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at transportation locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergencies that may arise within the transportation environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Monitor for unusual or suspicious activities, reporting all observations and incidents according to site protocols.
  • Assist in managing access control, verifying identification, and monitoring entrances and exits as required by location policies.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as necessary during incidents or emergencies on site.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports regarding observations, incidents, and patrol activities for Allied Universal and client review.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
