As a Security Officer - Armed Flex Utilities Patrol in Dallas, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol utility locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and contributing to a secure environment for personnel and visitors. Your visible presence and routine patrols will support access control, customer service, and communication while upholding our core values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by performing security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to observe any unusual situations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious activity.
  • Communicate with site personnel and/or law enforcement as required, following established protocols for the utilities environment.
  • Prepare detailed and timely reports on daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
  • Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and weapons, adhering to all Allied Universal and client-specific guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training related to security-related practices, emergency response, and use of force protocols in a utilities-focused setting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An active armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control systems and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
