Job Description


As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrol in Aurora, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a technology-focused location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, providing exceptional customer service, and communicating clearly with visitors and team members. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the technology-focused location and its perimeter, adjusting to different working environments and conditions as required by the site.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist visitors, employees and contractors with access and directions as appropriate, while helping to support adherence to site policies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal management and/or local law enforcement as situations require.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
