Job Description


As a Security Guard  Government Institution - Full Time in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a member of the Allied Universal team, you will be responsible for patrolling and maintaining a secure environment at a government location. In this unarmed patrol role, you will conduct regular patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to everyone on site. You will be a key part of an agile and reliable team, acting with integrity and supporting a people-first culture. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or suspicious behavior, adapting to varying working environments as required by the location.
  • Observe and report any security-related irregularities, hazards, or incidents according to Allied Universal procedures.
  • Assist personnel and visitors by providing directions and general information related to the location.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of patrols, incidents, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and/or site representatives regarding any security-related concerns or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
